أُمُّ جَمِيلٍ بِنْتُ حَرْبٍ عَمِيَتْ عَنْ رُؤْيَةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ

أخبرنا الحسن بن يعقوب العَدْل، أخبرنا محمد بن عبد الوهاب، حدثنا يَعلَى بن عُبيد، عن محمد بن إسحاق قال: حدثني عبد الله بن أبي نَجِيح، عن مجاهد، عن ابن عبَّاس؛ قال (1): سأَلْناه عن قول الله ﷿: ﴿أَوْ خَلْقًا مِمَّا يَكْبُرُ فِي صُدُورِكُمْ﴾ [الإسراء: 51] ما الَّذي أراد به؟ قال: الموتُ (2).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط مسلم، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Mujahid; he said that we asked Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) about the saying of Allah Almighty: "Or a creation of that which is great in your breasts (minds)" [Surah al-Isra': 51], what is meant by it? He said: "Death."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Muslim, and the two Shaykhs did not record it.

(2) إسناده حسن من أجل محمد بن إسحاق. والخبر في "سيرة ابن هشام" 1/ 317.
Grading: (2) Its chain is "hasan" because of Muhammad bin Ishaq.
