It is narrated from Tawus; he said: I was with Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), and with us was a man from the Qadariyyah (the sect that denies divine decree). I said: "Some people say that there is no divine decree." Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) asked: "Is any of them (the Qadariyyah) among these people?" I said: "If there were, what would you do?" He said: "If one of them were here, I would seize him by the head and then recite this verse to him: 'And We decreed for the Children of Israel in the Scripture: You will surely cause corruption in the land twice, and you will surely become greatly arrogant.' [Surah al-Isra': 4]"
