It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he was asked about this verse: "From it you take intoxicant and good provision." [Surah al-Nahl: 67] He said: "'Sakar' (intoxicant) means that of their fruits which has been made unlawful (that is, wine), and 'rizq hasan' (good provision) means that of their fruits which is lawful."
The chain of this hadith is sahih (authentic), and the two Shaykhs did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Note / Clarification: In the manuscripts (the narrator's name) is written as "Amr bin Sulaym", which is an error of the copyists. Al-Bayhaqi narrated it in "al-Sunan" (8/ 297) from the author (al-Hakim) with his chain and text, and in it he said "Amr bin Sufyan", and in "Ma'rifat al-Sunan wa-l-Athar" (17375) he indicated that more than one person narrated it from al-Aswad bin Qays and said in it "Amr bin Sufyan", and this is what is correct. See his biography in "al-Tahdhib". Technical note / Defect ('illah): Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar said in "Ithaf al-Maharah" (7/ 658): "Amr bin Sulaym, and it is said: Ibn Sufyan." So he said, but nothing is preserved in this report except "Amr bin Sufyan".
Grading: This report is sahih from Ibn Abbas and is narrated from him through several routes. This present chain is open to being graded hasan. Technical note / Defect ('illah): Two people narrated from Amr bin Sufyan (al-Thaqafi), and no one besides Ibn Hibban is reported to have declared him trustworthy. And Mu'adh bin Najdah is "of acceptable standing" (salih al-hal), as al-Dhahabi said in "al-Mizan". And both of them have been corroborated. Reference / Source: It was narrated from Sufyan (al-Thawri) by Abd al-Razzaq in his "Tafsir" (1/ 357), by Abd al-Rahman bin Mahdi with Abu 'Ubayd in "al-Nasikh wa-l-Mansukh" (462), and by Abu Nu'aym al-Fadl bin Dukayn with al-Tabari in his "Tafsir" (14/ 134). Grading: And al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar declared it sahih in "Fath al-Bari" (13/ 474). Reference / Source: Also, al-Tabari (14/ 134) and al-Mizzi, in the biography of Amr bin Sufyan in "al-Tahdhib" (22/ 44), narrated it in similar form through various routes from al-Aswad bin Qays. 14/ 135. Reference / Source: And it is narrated from Ibn Abbas with the same meaning through several other routes, which al-Tabari (14/ 135) documented. Reference / Source: And al-Bukhari mentioned it in suspended form (mu'allaq, without a chain) in his "Sahih", in the Book of Tafsir, under Surah al-Nahl.
