أخبرنا محمد بن علي بن دُحَيم الشَّيباني بالكوفة، حدثنا أحمد بن حازم بن أبي غَرَزة، حدثنا الفضل بن دُكَين، حدثنا محمد بن مسلم الطائفي، حدثنا عمرو بن دينار عن جابر بن عبد الله قال: رأى ناسٌ نارًا في المقبرة فأتَوْها، فإذا رسول الله ﷺ في القبر، وإذا هو يقول: "ناوِلُوني صاحبَكم"، وإذا هو الرجلُ الأوَّاه الذي يَرفَعُ صوتَه بالذِّكْر (1).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه. [12 - سورة يوسف] ﷽

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) that some people saw a fire in the graveyard and went there. They saw that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was inside the grave, saying: "Hand your companion over to me (that is, lower him into the grave)." And this was the man who was "awwah" (that is, one who wept much and raised his voice in the remembrance of Allah).
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Grading: Its chain is hasan because of Muhammad bin Muslim al-Ta'ifi.
وأخرجه أبو داود (3164) عن محمد بن حاتم بن بَزِيع، عن أبي نعيم الفضل بن دكين، بهذا الإسناد. وانظر ما سلف برقم (1377) و (1378).
Reference / Source: Abu Dawud (3164) recorded it from Muhammad bin Hatim bin Bazi', from Abu Nu'aym al-Fadl bin Dukayn, with this same chain. And see what has passed at numbers (1377) and (1378).
