It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) concerning the saying of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic: "Do they not know that it is Allah who accepts repentance from His servants and receives charities?" [Surah al-Tawbah: 104], that he said: "Indeed, Allah accepts charity provided it is from pure (lawful) earnings, and He takes it in His right hand. And indeed, if a man gives in charity even the like of a morsel, Allah nurtures it for him just as one of you nurtures his young camel or his foal, until it grows in the palm of Allah, or he said: in the hand of Allah, until it becomes like (Mount) Uhud."
The two Shaykhs agreed on recording the hadith of Abu al-Hubab Sa'id bin Yasar from Abu Hurayrah with wording other than this. This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), and they did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits

Grading: Its isnad is sahih, and (the author) presented it here as mawquf, whereas originally it is marfu'. Reference / Source: It occurs as marfu' with this same isnad in "Musnad Ahmad" (13/ 7634), except that the verse is not mentioned in it. It is likewise in "Jami' Ma'mar" in the narration of Abd al-Razzaq (20050). See the rest of its takhrij in "Musnad Ahmad". Reference / Source: Ahmad (16/ 10088) and al-Tirmidhi (662) recorded it by way of Waki', from Abbad bin Mansur, from al-Qasim bin Muhammad, with this isnad. And (al-Tirmidhi) said: This hadith is hasan sahih. Technical note / Defect ('illah): We say: Abbad has some weakness, but he is corroborated. Reference / Source: Something similar was recorded by Ahmad (14/ 8381 and 8961; 16/ 10979), al-Bukhari (1410), Muslim (1014), Ibn Majah (1842), al-Tirmidhi (661), al-Nasa'i (2316) and Ibn Hibban (270 and 3318) by several routes from Abu Hurayrah. Note / Clarification: "Al-fasil" is the young of a she-camel, and "al-muhr" is the young of a horse (a foal). General principle: Al-Tirmidhi said after the hadith: More than one of the people of knowledge said about this hadith and similar narrations concerning the Attributes, such as the descent of the Lord, Blessed and Exalted, every night to the lowest heaven: these narrations are established, they are believed in, nothing is imagined about them, and it is not asked "how?". This is what has been narrated from Malik, Sufyan bin Uyaynah and Abdullah bin al-Mubarak: they said about these hadiths, "Pass them on as they came, without (asking) how." This is the position of the people of knowledge among Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama'ah. As for the Jahmiyyah, they rejected these narrations and said: This is tashbih (likening Allah to creation).
Reference / Source: The hadith of Sa'id bin Yasar was recorded with a connected chain by Muslim (1014) (63), not al-Bukhari; al-Bukhari only mentioned it as mu'allaq (without a full chain) after (1410) and (7430).
