It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-Miqdad bin al-Aswad (may Allah be pleased with him) that he was sitting on a small chest in Damascus. A man said to him: "If only you would stay back from the military expedition this year." He said: "'Al-Buhuth', that is, Surah al-Tawbah, has prevented us (from staying at home). Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, has said: 'Go forth, whether light or heavy' [Surah al-Tawbah: 41], and I find myself only light (ready and fit)."
