Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 3277

حدثنا بكر بن محمد الصَّيرَفي بمَرْو، حدثنا عبد الصمد بن الفضل، حدثنا مالك بن إسماعيل النَّهْدي، حدثنا إسرائيل، عن أبي إسحاق، عن عبد الله بن خَليفة قال: سمعت ابن عبَّاس يقول: إِنَّ في الأنعام آياتٍ مُحكَماتٍ هُنَّ أُمُّ الكتاب، ثم قرأ: ﴿قُلْ تَعَالَوْا أَتْلُ مَا حَرَّمَ رَبُّكُمْ عَلَيْكُمْ﴾ إلى آخر الآية [الأنعام: 151] (1).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: "Indeed, in Surah al-An'am there are decisive verses which are the Mother of the Book (the foundation of the religion)." Then he recited this verse: "Say: Come, I will recite to you what your Lord has forbidden to you" (to the end) [Surah al-An'am: 151].
This hadith has an authentic (sahih) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.
