It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to be guarded until this verse was revealed: "And Allah will protect you from the people" [Surah al-Ma'idah: 67]. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) put his blessed head out of the tent and said (to the guards): "O people! Leave now, for Allah has surely taken it upon Himself to protect me."
This hadith has an authentic (sahih) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its narrators are thiqah (trustworthy) except al-Harith bin Ubayd al-Iyadi, who is da'if (weak) but is taken into consideration (as corroboration). Technical note / Defect ('illah): He was contradicted by Isma'il Ibn Ulayyah (with al-Tabari 6/ 307 - 308) and Wuhayb bin Khalid (with Ibn Mardawayh, as in "Tafsir Ibn Kathir"): both of them narrated it from Sa'id bin Iyas al-Jurayri, from Abd Allah bin Shaqiq, as mursal, without mentioning A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) in it, and that is correct, because Ibn Ulayyah and Wuhayb are thiqah and thabt (firmly reliable). Reference / Source: Al-Tirmidhi recorded it (3046) by two routes from Muslim bin Ibrahim with this chain. He said: This hadith is gharib, then he pointed to the mursal narration. Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar said in "al-Fath" (9/ 156): Its chain is hasan, and there is disagreement over whether it is connected or mursal.
