حدثنا أبو العبَّاس محمد بن يعقوب، حدثنا بَحْر بن نصر الخَوْلاني، قال: قُرئَ على عبد الله بن وهب: أخبرك معاويةُ بن صالح، عن أبي الزاهريَّة، عن جُبير بن نُفير قال: حَجَجتُ فدخلتُ على عائشة، فقالت لي: يا جبيرُ، تقرأُ المائدة؟ فقلت: نعم، فقالت: أمَا إنها آخرُ سورة نزلت، فما وجدتُم فيها من حلالٍ، فاستَحِلُّوه، وما وجدتُم فيها من حرامٍ، فحرِّموه (1).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jubayr bin Nufayr (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I performed Hajj and went to see Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her). She asked me: "O Jubayr! Do you recite Surah al-Ma'idah?" I said: "Yes." She said: "Take note! It is the last surah that was revealed, so whatever you find permitted in it, regard it as permitted, and whatever you find forbidden in it, regard it as forbidden."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

وأخرجه أحمد 42/ (25547)، والنسائي (11073) من طريق عبد الرحمن بن مهدي، عن معاوية بن صالح، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Ahmad recorded it (42/ (25547)) and al-Nasa'i (11073) by way of Abd al-Rahman bin Mahdi, from Mu'awiyah bin Salih, with this chain.
