It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: "O Messenger of Allah, the men take part in military campaigns, while we (women) neither go on campaigns nor fight in battle and attain martyrdom, and we also receive (only) half (of the men's share) in inheritance?" So Allah Almighty revealed this verse: "And do not wish for that by which Allah has favoured some of you over others" [Surah Al-Nisa': 32].
If it is established that Mujahid heard from Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her), then this hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim).

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its narrators are thiqah, Technical note / Defect ('illah): but what is preserved (mahfuz) in it from Mujahid is: "that Umm Salamah said", i.e. in mursal form. Technical note / Defect ('illah): Qabisah is Ibn Uqbah, Sufyan is al-Thawri, and Ibn Abi Najih is Abd Allah. Reference / Source: Ahmad (44/ (26736)) and al-Tirmidhi (3022) recorded it by way of Sufyan bin Uyaynah, from Ibn Abi Najih, with the same chain. Al-Tirmidhi said: "This hadith is mursal; some narrated it from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, as mursal: that Umm Salamah said such-and-such." (3602). Details of the narration: See what will come at no. (3602).
(9241). Technical note / Defect ('illah): None of the scholars has explicitly denied that he (Mujahid) heard from her (Umm Salamah), and his meeting her and hearing from her is quite possible, except that no chain contains an explicit statement of his hearing. See the discussion of Shaykh Ahmad Shakir (may Allah have mercy on him) on this issue in his notes on "Tafsir al-Tabari" at no. (9241).
