It is narrated from Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "There are three things which, had the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) fully explained them to us, would have been dearer to me than this world and everything in it: (first,) the caliphate, (second,) kalalah, and (third,) usury (riba)."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), and they did not record it.

Grading: Its narrators are thiqah, but it is munqati'; Technical note / Defect ('illah): the narration of Murrah (Ibn Sharahil) from Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) is mursal. Sufyan here is al-Thawri. Reference / Source: Ibn Majah recorded it (2727) by way of Waki', from Sufyan (al-Thawri), with this chain. 13/ 224. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: Sufyan was corroborated in it by Shu'bah, with Abu Dawud al-Tayalisi (60) and al-Tahawi in "Mushkil al-Athar" (13/ 224). Reference / Source: Al-Bukhari (5588), Muslim (3032), and Abu Dawud (3669) recorded something similar by way of al-Sha'bi, from Ibn Umar, from his father Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), and in it he mentioned "the grandfather" instead of "the caliphate".
