It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Allah Almighty revealed to your Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "I destroyed seventy thousand people in return for (the unjust killing of) Yahya bin Zakariyya, and I will kill seventy thousand and (another) seventy thousand in return for your daughter's son (Sayyiduna Husayn, may Allah be pleased with him)."
Imam al-Hakim said: For a long time I used to think that al-Mismai was alone in narrating this hadith from Abu Nu'aym, until (the chain that follows).

Grading: Its chain is weak because of the weakness of Muhammad bin Shaddad al-Misma'i, and its text is munkar. Although it has been narrated through several routes from Abu Nu'aym (al-Fadl bin Dukayn), as will come with the author under no. (4882), none of these corroborations is free of criticism. Technical note / Defect ('illah): Moreover, even if one of these chains to Abu Nu'aym were sound, Habib bin Abi Thabit has been described as frequently narrating mursal reports and as a mudallis, and in none of these routes does he explicitly state that he heard it from Sa'id bin Jubayr; so this is another defect of this report, especially as Habib is alone in narrating it. Al-Dhahabi said in his "Talkhis": The text is extremely munkar; and he said in "al-Siyar" 4/343: Its chain is clean but its wording is munkar. 11/ 575. Technical note / Defect ('illah): Al-Khatib al-Baghdadi in "al-Mahrawaniyyat" (59) and Ibn Kathir in "al-Bidayah wa al-Nihayah" 11/575 deemed it gharib (strange). Reference / Source: The hadith is with Abu Bakr al-Shafi'i (the author's shaykh here) in "al-Ghaylaniyyat" (387), and via him it was also recorded by al-Khatib in "Tarikh Baghdad" 1/472, al-Shajari in his "Amali" 1/160, Ibn 'Asakir in "Tarikh Dimashq" 14/225 and 64/215-216, and Ibn al-Jawzi in "al-Mawdu'at" (761), who said: This hadith is not authentic. Reference / Source: Ibn Hibban recorded it in "al-Majruhin" 2/215 via al-Qasim bin Ibrahim al-Hashimi, from Abu Nu'aym, with the same chain. Then he said: This has no basis; and he said about al-Qasim: munkar in hadith. Details of the narration: The hadith will also come from Abu Bakr al-Shafi'i under nos. (4197) and (4882). More than one of those who wrote on fabricated hadiths (mawdu'at) included it in their works. (1443). Reference / Source: The first half has been narrated from Abd Allah bin Salam as his own saying: "No prophet was ever killed but seventy thousand were killed for him." It was recorded from him by Ma'mar bin Rashid in his "Jami'" (20963), Ishaq bin Rahwayh in his "Musnad" (as in Ibn Hajar's "al-Matalib al-'Aliyah" (7374) and (7375)), and al-Ajurri in "al-Shari'ah" (1443). Reference / Source: In another narration from him, he said: In the revealed Book of Allah: There is no people who kill their prophet except that Allah kills in return for him سبعين ألفًا. Reference / Source: seventy thousand. 'Umar bin Shabbah recorded it in "Tarikh al-Madinah" 4/1177. By his words "the revealed Book of Allah" he means the Torah.
