أخبرني محمد بن علي الصَّنعاني بمكة، حدثنا علي بن المبارك الصَّنعاني، حدثنا زيد بن المبارَك الصنعاني، حدثنا محمد بن ثَوْر، عن ابن جُرَيج، عن عبد الله ابن أبي مُلَيكة قال: أرسلتُ إلى ابن عبَّاس أسألُه عن شهادة الصِّبيان، فقال: قال الله ﷿: ﴿مِمَّنْ تَرْضَوْنَ مِنَ الشُّهَدَاءِ﴾ [البقرة: 282] وليسوا ممّن نَرضَى، قال: فأرسلتُ إلى ابن الزُّبير أسألُه، فقال: بالحَرِيِّ إن سُئِلوا أن يَصدُقوا، قال: فما رأيتُ القضاءَ إلَّا على ما قال ابنُ الزُّبير (1).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Abdullah bin Abi Mulaykah that he sent a message to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) asking about the testimony of children. He said: Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, says: "such witnesses as you are satisfied with" [Surah al-Baqarah: 282], and children are not among those with whom we are satisfied as witnesses. The narrator said: I sent a message to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with them both) asking the same question, and he said: It is quite likely that if these children are asked (immediately after the matter), they will speak the truth. The narrator said: I saw that judgment was given only in accordance with what Sayyiduna Ibn al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with them both) had said.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), and they did not record it.

وأخرجه البيهقي 10/ 162 عن أبي عبد الله الحاكم، بهذا الإسناد.

وأخرجه ابن أبي شيبة 6/ 280، وابن أبي حاتم في "تفسيره" 2/ 561 من طريق وكيع، عن ابن جريج، به.

واخرجه سعيد بن منصور في التفسير من "سننه" (455) من طريق عمرو بن دينار، عن ابن أبي مليكة، به -دون ذكر ابن الزبير.
Reference / Source: Sa'id bin Mansur recorded it in the Tafsir section of his "Sunan" (455) via 'Amr bin Dinar, from Ibn Abi Mulaykah, with the same chain, but without mentioning Ibn al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him).

Details of the narration: It will come under no. (7227) via 'Ubayd Allah bin Musa, from Ibn Jurayj.
