حدثنا بكر بن محمد حَمْدان الصَّيرَفي بمَرْو، حدثنا عبد الصمد بن الفضل البَلْخي، حدثنا قَبِيصة بن عُقْبة، حدثنا سفيان، عن هارون بن عَنتَرة، عن أبيه، عن ابن عبَّاس في قوله ﷿: ﴿إِعْصَارٌ فِيهِ نَارٌ﴾ [البقرة: 266] قال: ريحٌ فيها سَمُومٌ شديدٌ (2).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) concerning this saying of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic: "a whirlwind containing fire" [Surah al-Baqarah: 266]; he said: It means a wind carrying a fierce, scorching hot blast.
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, and the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Technical note / Defect ('illah): Sufyan is al-Thawri.
وأخرجه ابن أبي حاتم في "تفسيره" 2/ 524 عن أبيه، عن قبيصة بن عقبة، بهذا الإسناد. وأخرجه ابن أبي الدنيا في "المطر والرعد والبرق" (162) من طريق الفريابي، سفيان، به.
Reference / Source: Ibn Abi Hatim recorded it in his "Tafsir" 2/524 from his father, from Qabisah bin 'Uqbah, with this same chain. Ibn Abi al-Dunya recorded it in "al-Matar wa al-Ra'd wa al-Barq" (162) via al-Firyabi, from Sufyan, with the same chain.
وأخرجه أبو داود في "الزهد" (357) من طريق عبيد الله الأشجعي، عن هارون بن عنترة به.
