It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) concerning the saying of Allah, "And all their ties will be cut off from them" [Surah al-Baqarah: 166], that he said: (The ties mean) mutual love and affection.
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Grading: Its chain is 'strong' (qawi) because of Abu Qilabah al-Raqashi (Abd al-Malik bin Muhammad); Technical note / Defect ('illah): despite the fact that he erred (wahm) here in the name of Abu Asim's shaykh: the correct view is that he is Isa bin Maymun, and no one called him Isa bin Abi Isa. Isa bin Maymun (who is al-Makki) is thiqah (trustworthy), and he is known as Ibn Dayah; he has a Tafsir which Abu Asim al-Dahhak bin Makhlad narrated from him. Ata' refers to 'Ibn Abi Rabah'. Reference / Source: Al-Tabari recorded it in his "Tafsir" 2/ 71, and likewise Ibn Abi Hatim in 1/ 278, via two routes from Abu Asim with this same chain.
