أخبرنا الحسن بن يعقوب العَدْل، حدثنا محمد بن عبد الوهاب، حدثنا جعفر بن عَوْن، حدثنا سفيان بن سعيد، عن عاصم بن كُلَيب، عن أبيه، عن ابن عبَّاس: أنه كان رآهم يطوفون بين الصَّفا والمَرْوة، قال: هذا ممّا أَورَثَتكم أمُّ إسماعيل (2).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated that he saw the people going between al-Safa and al-Marwah and said: "This is among the things that the mother of Isma'il (peace be upon him) (Sayyidah Hajar) left to you as an inheritance."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Imam Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Grading: Its chain is 'strong' (qawi).
وأخرجه الفاكهي في "أخبار مكة" (1374) عن عبَّاس العنبري، عن جعفر بن عون، بهذا الإسناد. وسقط من المطبوع آخره وهو قوله: هذا مما … إلخ. وسقط منه سند وأول الحديث التالي له عنده.
Reference / Source: Al-Fakihi recorded it in "Akhbar Makkah" (1374) from Abbas al-Anbari, from Ja'far bin Awn, with this same chain.
Note / Clarification: Its last part has dropped out of the printed edition, namely his statement: "هذا مما … إلخ". The chain and the beginning of the hadith that follows it there have also dropped out.
