حدَّثَناه أبو العبَّاس محمد بن يعقوب، حدثنا محمد بن إسحاق الصَّغَاني، حدثنا الحسن بن موسى الأشْيَب، حدثنا حماد بن سَلَمة، عن عطاء بن السائب، عن سعيد بن جُبير، عن ابن عبَّاس قال: قال الله تعالى لنبيِّه ﷺ: "طهِّرْ بيتيَ للطائفِين والعاكفِين والرُّكَّعِ السُّجود"، فالطوافُ قبلَ الصلاة (2). هذا متابِعٌ لنصف المتن، والنصفُ الثاني من حديث القاسم بن أبي أيوب:

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated that Allah Almighty said to His Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Purify My House for those who circle it, those who stay devoted there, and those who bow and prostrate" [Surah al-Baqarah: 125]. So circumambulation (tawaf) comes before prayer.
This narration corroborates half of the text of the hadith, and the second half is from the narration of al-Qasim bin Abi Ayyub.
