It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned the one with the Trumpet (Israfil, peace be upon him) and said: "Jibra'il is on his right and Mika'il is on his left." Abu Ubayd said: In the hadith, both of these names (Jibra'il and Mika'il) are narrated with a hamzah.

Technical note / Defect ('illah): The printed edition adds here: "عن سعد الطائي". This addition has been inserted (muqhamah) here from the following hadith, even though everyone who narrated this hadith from Abu Mu'awiyah, other than Abu 'Ubayd, mentioned him in it. Al-A'mash heard from both Sa'd al-Ta'i and 'Atiyyah al-'Awfi, and Sa'd and al-A'mash are contemporaries (aqran).
Grading: Its chain is weak because of the weakness of 'Atiyyah al-'Awfi. Reference / Source: Ahmad 17/(11069) and Abu Dawud (3999) recorded it by way of Abu Mu'awiyah, with this chain. Technical note / Defect ('illah): Both of them (Ahmad and Abu Dawud) mentioned Sa'd al-Ta'i in it between al-A'mash and 'Atiyyah. Reference / Source: Abu Dawud (3998) likewise recorded it by way of Abu 'Ubaydah 'Abd al-Malik bin Ma'n from al-A'mash, with this chain.
