. . . . . . . .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) concerning the saying of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic: "All praise is for Allah, the Lord of the worlds" [Surah al-Fatihah: 2], that he said: "The worlds" means the jinn and mankind.
Imam al-Hakim says: Let the student of this knowledge know that the tafsir of a Companion who witnessed the revelation and its sending down has, in the view of the two Shaykhs (Imam Bukhari and Muslim), the status of a musnad (connected) hadith.

Note / Clarification: There is a blank space here in the original manuscripts of "al-Mustadrak", including the original manuscript on which al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar relied in his book "Ithaf al-Maharah" (7634). We have not found this narration of Sufyan anywhere other than with the author.
Grading: Its narrators are thiqah. Technical note / Defect ('illah): As for Sufyan, our strong presumption is that he is al-Thawri. Reference / Source: Al-Tabari recorded it in his "Tafsir" 1/63 and Ibn Abi Hatim in his "Tafsir" as well 1/28, by way of Qays bin al-Rabi' from 'Ata' bin al-Sa'ib, with this chain.
(73). Details of the narration: See the discussion of this issue under the earlier hadith no. (73).
