حدثنا أبو علي الحسين بن علي الحافظ، أخبرنا أبو يعلى المَوصِلي، حدثنا أزهرُ بن مروان، حدثنا عبد الوارث بن سعيد، عن عمرو، عن الحسن، عن أمِّه، عن أم سَلَمة، أنَّ النبي ﷺ قرأها: (إِنَّا أَنْطَيناكَ (3) الكوثرَ) (4).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited it (the surah) this way: "Indeed, We have granted you (antaynaka) al-Kawthar." [Surah al-Kawthar: 1]
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain, but the two Shaykhs (Imam Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

(3) في المطبوع: (أعطيناك) بالعين، وهي القراءة المشهورة التي قرأ بها الجمهور، إلّا أنَّ الصواب في هذه الرواية بالنون كما في النسخ الخطية، وهي قراءة شاذَّة، وذكرها ابن خالويه في "مختصر في شواذّ القرآن" ص 181.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): In the printed edition it is (أعطيناك) with 'ayn, which is the well-known reading of the majority; but the correct form in this narration is with nun (أنطيناك), as in the manuscripts, and it is a shadh (irregular) reading which Ibn Khalawayh mentioned in "Mukhtasar fi Shawadhdh al-Qur'an" p. 181.
(4) إسناده ضعيف من أجل عمرو: وهو ابن عبيد البصري، ووهّاه الذهبي في "تلخيصه". الحسن: هو ابن أبي الحسن البصري.
Grading: Its chain is weak because of 'Amr (Ibn 'Ubayd al-Basri), whom al-Dhahabi declared very weak in his "Talkhis".
Technical note / Defect ('illah): The narrator al-Hasan is Ibn Abi al-Hasan al-Basri.
وأخرجه الطبراني في "الكبير" 23/ (862)، و "الأوسط" (8458) من طريق عمرو بن مخرّم أبي قتادة البصري، عن عبد الوارث بن سعيد، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Al-Tabarani recorded it in "al-Kabir" 23/(862) and "al-Awsat" (8458) by way of 'Amr bin Mukharram Abu Qatadah al-Basri from 'Abd al-Warith bin Sa'id, with this chain.
