أخبرني أبو أحمد بكر بن محمد الصَّيرَفي، حدثنا أبو بكر محمد بن الفَرَج الأزرق، حدثنا حجَّاج بن محمد قال: قال ابن جُرَيج: عن أبي الزُّبير، عن ابن عمر: أنَّ رسول الله ﷺ قرأ: (فطَلِّقُوهُنَّ في قُبُل عِدَّتِهِنَّ) [الطلاق: 1] (1). قد أخرج مسلم هذا الحديث بطوله عن ابن جُريج عن أبي الزُّبير: أنه سمع عبدَ الرحمن بن أَيمن يسأل عبدَ الله بن عمر في رجل طلَّق امرأته وهي حائض، وأظنُّه ذكر هذا اللفظ.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this blessed verse: "Then divorce them at the beginning of their waiting period (fi qubuli 'iddatihinna)." [Surah al-Talaq: 1]
Imam Muslim has narrated this hadith in detail through the route of Ibn Jurayj, in which Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) was asked about a man who divorced his wife while she was menstruating, and I think that he mentioned this very wording.

(1) حديث صحيح، وهذا إسناد حسن من أجل محمد بن الفرج الأزرق، وقد توبع، وابن جريج وأبو الزُّبير قد صرَّحا بسماعهما عند غير المصنف.
Grading: This hadith is sahih, and this chain is "hasan" because of Muhammad bin al-Faraj al-Azraq.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: He has been corroborated, and Ibn Jurayj and Abu al-Zubayr explicitly stated that they heard it directly in sources other than the author's.
وأخرجه أحمد 10/ (6246)، ومسلم (1471) (14)، والنسائي (5555) و (11537) من طرق عن حجاج بن محمد بهذا الإسناد.

وقوله: (في قُبل عِدَّتهن) هي قراءة شاذَّة لخلافها سواد المصحف الذي أجمع عليه المسلمون شرقًا وغربًا، وهي على سبيل التفسير لا على أنه قرآن كما قال أبو حيان الأندلسي في "البحر المحيط" 8/ 281. والآية هي: ﴿فَطَلِّقُوهُنَّ لِعِدَّتِهِنَّ﴾.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): His words (في قُبل عِدَّتهن) [at the start of their waiting period] are a shadh reading because they contradict the written text of the Mushaf on which the Muslims of East and West have agreed; they are by way of tafsir, not as Qur'an, as Abu Hayyan al-Andalusi said in "al-Bahr al-Muhit" 8/ 281. The actual verse is: ﴿فَطَلِّقُوهُنَّ لِعِدَّتِهِنَّ﴾ [divorce them for their waiting period].
