It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I recited the word "mudhdhakir" (with dhal) before the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) corrected it by reciting it with dal: "So is there anyone who will take heed (muddakir)?" [Surah al-Qamar: 15]
This hadith is sahih (authentic), and the two Shaykhs agreed on recording it in their books in abridged form through the narration of Imam Shu'bah.

Grading: Its chain is sahih. Details of the narration: Abu Ishaq here is "'Amr bin Abd Allah al-Sabi'i", and Abd Allah (the Companion in the hadith) is "Ibn Mas'ud". Reference / Source: Ahmad 7/ (4105) and al-Bukhari (4874) narrated it by way of Waki' with this same chain (like the author's narration). Reference / Source: Ahmad 6/ (3755) narrated it from Hajjaj bin Muhammad al-A'war, and al-Bukhari (3345) from Khalid bin Yazid, both of them from Isra'il with this same chain, in "abridged" form. Technical note / Defect ('illah): It escaped the author (may Allah have mercy on him) that this narration is in al-Bukhari (as mentioned above) by way of Isra'il, like his own narration.
