حدثنا أبو الفضل محمد بن إبراهيم المزكِّي، حدثنا أبو بكر محمد ابن إسماعيل، حدثنا محمد بن مصفَّى الحمصي، حدثنا بقيَّةُ، حدثني عبَّاد بن إسحاق، حدثنا عبد الله بن واقد، عن ابن عمر، عن رسول الله ﷺ: أنه قرأ: ﴿وَالْبَحْرُ يَمُدُّهُ﴾ [لقمان: 27]؛ رفعٌ (1). هذا حديث صحيح على شرط مسلم، ولم يُخرجاه. It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) recited (the word "al-bahru" in verse 27 of Surah Luqman) with raf', that is, with a dammah: "wa al-bahru yamudduhu". [Surah Luqman: 27]
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Details of the narration: Baqiyyah here is "Ibn al-Walid", and 'Abbad bin Ishaq's name is "Abd al-Rahman bin Ishaq bin Abd Allah al-Madani", and his nickname is 'Abbad.
