It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited (verse 17 of Surah al-Sajdah, with the word "qurrat" in the plural form) like this: "No soul knows what has been hidden for them of the coolness of eyes." [Surah al-Sajdah: 17]
This hadith has an authentic (sahih) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Note / Clarification: In manuscripts ('A) and (B) this word has been corrupted into "qurrah" (singular), while the text adopted from manuscripts (Z) and (S) is what is correct in this hadith (the hadith of Abu Hurayrah). For Abu Mu'awiyah stated explicitly in his narration from al-A'mash, from Abu Salih, that Abu Hurayrah used to read it (قرَّات أعيُن) in the plural. Ibn Majah (4328) recorded it, and al-Bukhari cited it without a chain (mu'allaq) after (4780). In this way he attributed this reading to Abu Hurayrah and did not narrate it as marfu'. It is a "shadh" reading, which Ibn Jinni mentioned in "al-Muhtasab" 2/ 174, while the reading of the majority is "qurrah" (singular).
(3) إسناده قوي. أبو صالح: هو ذكوان السَّمّان. Grading: Its chain is strong. Details of the narration: Abu Salih here is "Dhakwan al-Samman". وهذا الخبر قطعة من حديث أخرجه أحمد 16/ (10423)، والبخاري (4780)، ومسلم (2824)، وابن ماجه (4328) من طرق عن الأعمش، بهذا الإسناد. Reference / Source: This report is a portion of a hadith that Ahmad 16/ (10423), al-Bukhari (4780), Muslim (2824), and Ibn Majah (4328) narrated by various routes from al-A'mash, with this same chain. وأخرجه أحمد 15/ (9649)، والترمذي (3292)، والنسائي (11019) من طريق أبي سلمة، والبخاري (3244) و (4779)، ومسلم (2824)، والترمذي (3197)، وابن حبان (369) من طريق الأعرج، كلاهما عن أبي هريرة. وبيَّن الأعرج في روايته عند البخاري أنَّ الذي قرأ الآية بإثر الحديث هو أبو هريرة وليس النبي ﷺ. Reference / Source: Ahmad 15/ (9649), al-Tirmidhi (3292), and al-Nasa'i (11019) narrated it by way of Abu Salamah; and al-Bukhari (3244) and (4779), Muslim (2824), al-Tirmidhi (3197), and Ibn Hibban (369) by way of al-A'raj; both of them narrate from Abu Hurayrah. Important point: Al-A'raj made clear in al-Bukhari's narration that the one who recited the verse at the end of the hadith was "Abu Hurayrah", not the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
