It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) recited (the following verses of Surah Maryam) with these words: "The heavens almost break apart from it," reading the word "yanfatirna" with ya and nun; "and the mountains collapse," with ta; and "that they ascribe to the Most Merciful a son, and it is not befitting for the Most Merciful to take a son," reading the word "an" with a fathah. This hadith has an authentic (sahih) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its chain is "da'if".
Technical note / Defect ('illah): No biography of Abd al-Rahman al-Harrani could be found, and Makhul did not hear from Abu Umamah.
General principle: (ينفطرن), with ya' and nun, was read by 'Asim in the narration of Abu Bakr and, among the Seven, by Abu 'Amr. See "al-Sab'ah" by Ibn Mujahid, p. 412.
