لَيْسَ الْمُؤْمِنُ بِالطَّعَّانِ وَلَا اللَّعَّانِ وَلَا الْفَاحِشِ وَلَا الْبَذِيِّ
The believer is not a slanderer, nor a curser, nor obscene, nor foul-mouthed

حَدَّثَناه أبو بكر بن إسحاق، أخبرنا محمد بن أيوب، حدثنا أحمد بن يونس، حدثنا أبو بكر بن عيَّاش، عن الحسن بن عَمرو الفُقَيمي، عن محمد بن عبد الرحمن ابن يزيد، عن أبيه، عن عبد الله قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "ليس المؤمنُ بالطَّعّانِ ولا اللَّعّانِ، ولا الفاحش ولا البَذِيء" (1). وللحديث شاهدٌ ثانٍ عن إبراهيم النَّخَعي، لا بدَّ من ذِكْره وإن لم يكن إسناده من شرط الشيخين:

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The believer is neither one who taunts, nor one who curses, nor one who is obscene, nor one who speaks vulgarly."
This hadith also has a second corroborating narration (shahid) from Ibrahim al-Nakha'i, which must be mentioned even though its chain is not on the condition of the two Shaykhs.

(1) حديث صحيح، وهذا إسناد حسن من أجل أبي بكر بن عيّاش. محمد بن أيوب: هو ابن الضُّريس صاحب كتاب "فضائل القرآن"، وأحمد بن يونس: هو أحمد بن عبد الله بن يونس، نُسب إلى جدِّه.
Grading: (1) This hadith is sahih, and this chain is hasan on account of Abu Bakr bin 'Ayyash.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Muhammad bin Ayyub refers to "Ibn al-Durays", the author of the book "Fada'il al-Qur'an", and Ahmad bin Yunus refers to "Ahmad bin Abd Allah bin Yunus", who is attributed to his grandfather.
وأخرجه أحمد 7/ (3948)، وابن حبان (192) من طريقين عن أبي بكر بن عياش، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Ahmad (vol. 7/ no. 3948) and Ibn Hibban (192) narrated it through two different routes from Abu Bakr bin 'Ayyash with this same chain.
