It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), concerning this statement of Allah Almighty, "On the Day We will call every people with their leader" [Surah al-Isra: 71], said: "One of them will be called, and his record of deeds will be given in his right hand; his body will be lengthened to sixty cubits, his face will be made bright, and a crown of glittering pearls will be placed on his head. He will go to his companions, and they, seeing him from afar, will say: 'O Allah, bring him to us and bless us in him,' until he comes to them and says: 'Rejoice! For each man among you there is a reward like this.' As for the disbeliever, his face will be blackened and his body will be lengthened to sixty cubits in the form of Sayyiduna Adam (peace be upon him). His companions, seeing him, will say: 'We seek refuge in Allah from his evil. O Allah, do not bring him to us.' When he comes to them, they will say: 'O Allah, keep him away from us,' and he will say: 'May Allah keep you far away! For each one of you there is an end like this.'"
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Grading: Its chain is open to being graded "hasan". Technical note / Defect ('illah): Al-Suddi (who is Isma'il bin Abd al-Rahman bin Abi Karimah) is "saduq" (truthful) and "hasan al-hadith", and he is alone in narrating from his father. His father is a Tabi'i whom Ibn Hibban mentioned in "al-Thiqat", and no criticism of him has been reported from anyone. Reference / Source: Al-Tirmidhi (3136) narrated it by way of Abd Allah bin Abd al-Rahman (who is al-Darimi), from 'Ubayd Allah bin Musa, with this same chain, and he graded it "hasan". Reference / Source: Ibn Hibban narrated it in his "Sahih" (7349) by way of Abd al-Rahman bin Mahdi, from Isra'il.
