أخبرنا أبو أحمد بكر بن محمد الصيرفي، حدثنا أحمد بن محمد بن عيسى، حدثنا أبو مَعمَر، حدثنا عبد الوارث بن سعيد، حدثنا سعيد بن جُمْهان، حدثني سَفينة قال: قالت لي أم سَلَمة: أُعتقُكَ وأَشترِطُ عليك أن تخدُم رسولَ الله ﷺ ما عشتَ؟ قال: قلت: لو أنك لم تشترطي عليَّ، ما فارقتُ رسولَ الله ﷺ ما عشتُ؟ قال: فأعتقتْني واشترطَتْ عليَّ أن أخدُم رسولَ الله ﷺ ما عشتُ (1).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Safinah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Mother of the Believers, Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her), said to me: I will free you on the condition that you serve the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) as long as you live? He relates: I said: Even if you did not impose this condition on me, I would not leave the service of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) as long as I live. So she freed me and imposed this very condition on me, that I would serve the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) all my life.
This hadith has a sahih chain of transmission, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

(1) إسناده قوي من أجل سعيد بن جمهان. أبو معمر: هو عبد الله بن عمرو المُقعَد.
Grading: The chain of this hadith is "strong" (qawi) because of Sa'id bin Jumhan. (In the chain) Abu Ma'mar is "Abd Allah bin Amr al-Muq'ad".
وأخرجه أبو داود (3932)، والنسائي (4976) من طريقين عن عبد الوارث بن سعيد، به.
Reference / Source: Abu Dawud (3932) and al-Nasa'i (4976) narrated it likewise through two different routes from Abd al-Warith bin Sa'id.
وسيأتي مختصرًا برقم (6694) من طريق حماد بن سلمة عن سعيد بن جُهمان.
Details of the narration: And this narration will come later in abridged form at number (6694) by way of Hammad bin Salamah, from Sa'id bin Jumhan.
