It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to Madinah, his daughter Sayyidah Zaynab (may Allah be pleased with her) set out from Makkah with Kinanah or Ibn Kinanah. The people of Makkah pursued her, and Habbar bin al-Aswad caught up with her. He kept prodding her camel with his spear until he threw her down, so that she miscarried and began to bleed. Banu Hashim and Banu Umayyah quarrelled over her. Banu Umayyah said: We have more right to her, because she was married to their cousin Abu al-As. She stayed with Hind bint Utbah bin Rabi'ah, and Hind used to say to her: All this has happened because of your father. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Zayd bin Harithah: "Will you not go and bring Zaynab to me?" He said: Of course, O Messenger of Allah! He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Take this ring of mine." So Zayd set off and left his camel behind. He kept acting with great care and tact until he met a shepherd. He asked: For whom do you graze? He said: For Abu al-As. He asked: Whose goats are these? He said: Zaynab bint Muhammad's. He walked with him some distance, then said: Will you give this ring to her and not mention it to anyone? He said: Yes. The shepherd went and gave her the ring. She recognised it and asked: Who gave you this? He said: A man. She asked: Where did you leave him? He told her the place. She remained silent until night came, then she went out to him. When she reached him, Zayd said: Mount (the camel). She said: No, you sit in front. So he sat in front and she rode behind him, and they reached Madinah. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say: "She is the best of my daughters; she was made to suffer for my sake." When this reached Ali bin al-Husayn, he went to Urwah and said: What is this hadith that has reached me from you, in which you diminish the right of Fatimah? Urwah said: By Allah! Even if I were given the wealth of the East and the West, I would not diminish Fatimah's right; but from now on I will never narrate this hadith. Urwah said that this incident happened before the revelation of the verse: "Call them by (the names of) their fathers; that is more just in the sight of Allah" [Surah al-Ahzab: 5].
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

Grading: This chain is "hasan", in sha' Allah, because of "Yahya bin Ayyub" (al-Ghafiqi al-Misri). Technical note / Defect ('illah): There is some criticism of him, as al-Dhahabi said, and he (al-Dhahabi) deemed it objectionable (munkar) at the later place, no. (7007), and he (Yahya) is alone in narrating it. Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar declared it sahih in "Mukhtasar Zawa'id al-Bazzar" (2009). Ibn al-Had (in the chain) is "Yazid bin Abd Allah bin Usamah bin al-Had", known by attribution to his father's grandfather.
