أخبرني أحمد بن محمد بن سلمة العَنَزي، حدثنا عثمان بن سعيد الدارمي، حدثنا نُعيم بن حماد، حدثنا أبو صفوان عبد الله بن سعيد الأُموي، عن ثَوْر بن يزيد، عن صفيّة بنت شَيْبة، عن عائشة، عن النبي ﷺ قال: "لا طَلاقَ ولا عَتاقَ في إغلاقٍ" (1).

It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "In a state of ighlaq (extreme anger or coercion), there is neither divorce nor freeing of a slave ('ataq)."

(1) إسناده ضعيف، نُعيم بن حماد صاحب مناكير كما قال الذهبي في "تلخيصه"، قلنا: والظاهر أنه وهم هنا في إسناد الحديث بإسقاط ذكر محمد بن عبيد بن أبي صالح بين ثور وصفية، فلا بد من ذكره في الإسناد، إذ هو صاحب القصة الذي سمع الخبر من صفية كما توضحه رواية محمد بن إسحاق السابقة.
Grading: The chain of this hadith is "da'if" (weak).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Nu'aym bin Hammad narrates munkar reports, as al-Dhahabi said in "al-Talkhis". We say: it appears that he erred here in the chain by dropping "Muhammad bin 'Ubayd bin Abi Salih" between Thawr and Safiyyah, whereas he must be mentioned in the chain, since he is the person in the story who heard the report from Safiyyah, as the previous narration of Muhammad bin Ishaq makes clear.
