It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a woman came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah, I am so-and-so, the daughter of so-and-so." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I have recognised you. What is your need?" She said: "My need concerns my cousin, so-and-so, the worshipper." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I know him (as well)." She said: "He has proposed to me, so tell me what right a husband has over his wife. If it is a right I can fulfil, I will marry him; otherwise I will not marry." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The right of a husband over his wife is that if blood, pus and fluid were flowing from his nostrils and she licked it with her tongue, even then she would not have fulfilled his right. And if it were permissible for any human being to prostrate to another human being, I would have commanded a woman to prostrate to her husband when he comes in to her, because of the superiority Allah has given him (the husband) over her (the wife)." She said: "By the One who sent you with the truth, I will never marry as long as I remain in this world."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) in its chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: The chain of this hadith is "extremely da'if" because of Sulayman bin Dawud al-Yamami. He is a feeble (wahin) narrator, as al-Mundhiri said in "al-Targhib wa al-Tarhib" (3/ 35) and al-Dhahabi in "Talkhis al-Mustadrak". Technical note / Defect ('illah): Moreover, Muhammad bin 'Amr bin 'Alqamah contradicted him: he narrated it from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), confining himself to mentioning only the "prostration"; therefore this is what is "mahfuz" (preserved) in the hadith of Abu Hurayrah. Reference / Source: Al-Tirmidhi (1159) recorded it through the route of al-Nadr bin Shumayl, and Ibn Hibban (4162) through the route of Abu Usamah Hammad bin Usamah; both of them narrate it from Muhammad bin 'Amr bin 'Alqamah, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), with the "story of the prostration". And al-Tirmidhi said: This hadith is "hasan gharib". (7512). Note / Clarification: The hadith of Sulayman bin Dawud will come again at number (7512). (2798). Note / Clarification: And the preceding narration, together with the one that passed at number (2798), suffice in its place (i.e. there is no need for this weak narration).
