It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) gave Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) as her trousseau a bedding sheet, a waterskin, and a leather pillow stuffed with palm fibre.
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: The chain of this hadith is "sahih".
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Za'idah (who is Ibn Qudamah) heard from 'Ata' bin al-Sa'ib before his ikhtilat (deterioration of memory).
Reference / Source: Ahmad (2/ 853) recorded it from Mu'awiyah bin 'Amr with this same chain. And Ahmad paired "Abu Sa'id, the freed slave of Banu Hashim" with Mu'awiyah (as maqrun).
Reference / Source: Ahmad (819, 838) recorded it likewise from 'Affan bin Muslim, from Hammad bin Salamah, from 'Ata' bin al-Sa'ib; it is part of a long hadith in which 'Ali and Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with them) complain to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) of fatigue and ask him for a servant.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Hammad bin Salamah is also among those who heard from 'Ata' before his ikhtilat. His narration contains, in addition to Za'idah's narration, these words: "He (peace and blessings be upon him) sent with her (Fatimah) a khamilah (velvet sheet), a leather pillow stuffed with palm fibre, two millstones, a waterskin and two jars."
Reference / Source: Ibn Majah (4152) narrated it through the route of Muhammad bin Fudayl from 'Ata'. In his narration he explained "khamil" as "a white woollen velvet sheet". And his narration is similar to that of Za'idah.
