Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 2774

حدثنا أبو العباس محمد بن يعقوب حدثنا الربيع بن سليمان المُرادي، حدثنا عبد الله بن وهب، أخبرني أسامة بن زيد، أنَّ صفوان بن سُليم حدّثه عن عُرْوة بن الزُّبَير، عن عائشة، أنها قالت: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "مِن يُمنِ المرأةِ أن يُتَيسَّرَ في خِطبتِها، وأن يَتَيَسَّر صَدَاقُها، وأن يَتَيسَّر رَحِمُها" (1). قال عُرْوة: يعني يَتَيسَّر رحمُها للولادة. قال عُرْوة: وأنا أقول من عندي: من أول شُؤْمها أن يَكثُر صَداقُها.
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط مسلم ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Part of a woman's blessing and good fortune is that her proposal of marriage (khitbah) is easy, her dowry is easy, and her womb is easy (easy in giving birth)." Urwah says that by the womb being easy is meant ease in childbirth. Urwah also said: "I say from myself that the first of a woman's ill fortune is that her dowry is very heavy."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

(1) إسناده حسن من أجل أسامة بن زيد: وهو الليثي.
Grading: Its isnad is "hasan" because of Usamah bin Zayd (al-Laythi).
وأخرجه ابن حبان (4095) عن محمد بن جبريل الشهروزوري، عن الربيع بن سليمان، بهذا الإسناد. لكن بلفظ: "من يمن المرأة تسهيل أمرها وقلة صداقها".
Reference / Source: Ibn Hibban (4095) narrated it through the chain of Muhammad bin Jibril al-Shahrazuri from al-Rabi' bin Sulayman.
Details of the narration: However, its wording is: "Part of a woman's blessing and good fortune is that her matter (of marriage) is made easy and her dowry is small".
وأخرجه أحمد 41/ (24478)، و (24607) من طريقين عن أسامة بن زيد الليثي، به.
Reference / Source: Ahmad narrated it at (41/ 24478) and (24607) through two different routes from Usamah bin Zayd al-Laythi.
وقد تقدم برقم (2767) من طريق القاسم بن محمد عن عائشة، بلفظ: "أعظم النساء بركةً أيسَرُهن صَداقًا"، وإسناده صحيح.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: This narration has already passed at number (2767) through the route of al-Qasim bin Muhammad from 'A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) with these words: "The most blessed of women is the one whose dowry is the easiest (smallest)".
Grading: Its isnad is "sahih".
