Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 2710

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Nothing (better) has been seen for two people who love each other than marriage."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it, because Sufyan bin Uyaynah and Ma'mar bin Rashid narrated it from Ibrahim bin Maysarah as mawquf (stopping at the Companion).

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: This hadith is "sahih", if Allah wills.
Technical note: Bakr bin Sahl, although weak, has been corroborated, and Muhammad bin Muslim is "hasan al-hadith" and he too has been corroborated.
Note / Clarification: "Tawus" here is the well-known Successor Tawus bin Kaysan al-Yamani.
Reference / Source: Ibn Majah (1847) recorded it via Sa'id bin Sulayman al-Wasiti, from Muhammad bin Muslim al-Ta'ifi, with this same chain.
Reference / Source: Ibn Jumay' al-Saydawi recorded it in "Mu'jam al-Shuyukh" (pp. 243-244, entry 200), and Abu Ya'la al-Khalili in "al-Irshad" (2/653 and 3/947) via Abd al-Samad bin Hassan al-Marwarrudhi; and al-Bazzar (4857) and al-Khalili (3/947) via Mu'ammal bin Isma'il; both of them from Sufyan al-Thawri, from Ibrahim bin Maysarah.
Technical note: In al-Bazzar's chain Sufyan is specified as "Sufyan bin Uyaynah", which is an error; the correct one is "Sufyan al-Thawri", as al-Bazzar himself clarified after the hadith. The chain of Abd al-Samad is "strong" (qawi).

Technical note / Correction: Here the author (al-Hakim) has erred (wahm). In fact these two (Sufyan bin Uyaynah and Ma'mar) narrated it from Ibrahim bin Maysarah from Tawus as "mursal" (without mentioning the Companion) from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); they did not mention Ibn Abbas in it. The narration of Sufyan bin Uyaynah was recorded by Sa'id bin Mansur (492), Abu Ya'la in his "Musnad" (2747) and al-Uqayli in "al-Du'afa'" (1645).
Preference: Al-Uqayli preferred this "mursal" narration over the "marfu'" (mawsul) one.
Reference / Source: The narration of Ma'mar was recorded by Abd al-Razzaq (10319) and (10377), and in the second place he joined Ibn Jurayj with him.
