It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There are three people whom Allah Almighty has, out of His generosity, taken upon Himself to help: the one who strives (in jihad) in the path of Allah, the one who marries intending (through marriage) to keep himself chaste, and the mukatab slave who intends to pay (the sum for his freedom)."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.
