الْأَمْرُ بِقَتْلِ مَنْ يُفَرِّقُ بَيْنَ أُمَّةِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ .

أخبرَناه أبو بكر بن إسحاق، أخبرنا إسماعيل بن إسحاق القاضي، أخبرنا سليمان بن حَرْب، حدثنا حماد بن زيد قال: حدثني المُشعَّث بن طَرِيف، وكان قاضيًا بهَراة، عن عبد الله بن الصامِت، عن أبي ذر، عن النبي ﷺ، نحوه (1).
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said something similar (like the previous hadith).

(1) حديث صحيح، وهذا إسناد تفرَّد حماد بن زيد فيه بزيادة المشعَّث بن طريف في إسناده كما أوضحناه عند الطريق السابق. والمشعَّث هذا رجل جليل القدر كما وصفه الحافظ صالح بن محمد جزرة، فلو فرضنا ثبوته في هذا الإسناد فإنه يكون صحيحًا أيضًا، ويكون من المزيد في متصل الأسانيد، لكن يعكّر عليه أنَّ مسلمًا أخرج قطعة من الحديث الطويل الذي رواه بطوله أحمد، فلم يذكر في إسناده المشعَّث، وقد رواها مسلم من طريق حماد بن زيد نفسه، فالله تعالى أعلم.
Grading: This hadith is sahih, although in this chain Hammad bin Zayd is alone in adding "al-Musha''ath bin Tarif". Al-Musha''ath is a narrator of high standing; even if this addition is accepted, the chain would still be sahih and it would be termed "al-mazid fi muttasil al-asanid" (an extra narrator added in a connected chain). However, when Imam Muslim narrated this same portion from Hammad bin Zayd, he did not mention al-Musha''ath. And Allah knows best.
وأخرجه أبو داود (4261) و (4409) عن مُسدَّد بن مُسَرهد، وابن ماجه (3958) عن أحمد بن عَبْدة، كلاهما عن حماد بن زيد، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Imam Abu Dawud (4261, 4409) narrated it from Musaddad bin Musarhad, and Ibn Majah (3958) from Ahmad bin 'Abdah; both of them narrate it through Hammad bin Zayd with this same chain.
وسيأتي برقم (8510) من طريق سعيد بن هبيرة عن حماد بن زيد.
Note / Clarification: This narration will be recorded again later at number (8510) via Sa'id bin Hubayrah from Hammad bin Zayd.
Grading: This hadith is sahih, although in this chain Hammad bin Zayd is alone in adding "al-Musha''ath bin Tarif".
