It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Ujrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that one day the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came out to us while we were in the mosque; five of us were Arabs and four were non-Arabs. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Are you listening?" We said: Yes, we are listening. He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked twice, then said: "Listen! After me there will soon be rulers. Whoever goes to them, affirms their lies and helps them in their oppression, then he has nothing to do with me and I have nothing to do with him, and he will never come to me at the Pool. And whoever does not go to them, does not affirm their lies and does not help them in their oppression, he is from me and I am from him, and he will soon come to me at the Pool."

Grading: The hadith is sahih, but this particular chain is weak. Technical note / Defect ('illah): It contains Muhammad bin Maslamah, about whom there is criticism (as will be explained at hadith 2966), and there is a break (inqita') between al-Sha'bi and Ka'b bin Ujrah; between the two of them in this hadith is Asim al-Adawi, as the author (al-Hakim) himself will mention. Identification of names: Abu Hasin is Uthman bin Asim al-Asadi, and al-Sha'bi is Amir bin Sharahil.
