مَنْ خَرَجَ مِنَ الْجَمَاعَةِ قِيدَ شِبْرٍ فَقَدْ خَلَعَ رِبْقَةَ الْإِسْلَامِ مِنْ عُنُقِهِ حَتَّى يُرَاجِعَهُ
Whoever leaves the community by a handspan has removed the noose of Islam from his neck until he returns

أخبرَناه أبو العباس السَّيّاري بمَرْو، حدثنا أبو الموجِّه، حدثنا عَبْدانُ، حدثنا عبد الوهاب بن عبد المجيد (1)، حدثنا حميد، عن أنس قال: دخلتُ على عبيد الله بن زياد وهم يتراجعون في ذِكْر الحوض، ثم ذكره بمثله.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I went to Ubaydullah bin Ziyad while they were discussing the Pool; then he narrated the same as the previous narration.
There is also a sahih shahid (supporting narration) of it from Humayd on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim).
