Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 2531

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Wahshi bin Harb (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man said: "O Messenger of Allah! We eat but we are not satisfied!" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Perhaps you eat separately? Gather together for your food and mention the name of Allah (at the start), and Allah will bless it for you."

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: This is hasan li-ghayrihi; its chain has a slight weakness (lin) because of Wahshi bin Harb, but al-Hafiz al-Iraqi graded it hasan in "Takhrij Ahadith al-Ihya'".
Reference / Source: Ahmad (25/16078), Abu Dawud (3764), Ibn Majah (3286) and Ibn Hibban (5224) narrated it through al-Walid bin Muslim.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: The narration of Jabir bin Abdullah is a supporting report for it, with the wording: "The food most beloved to Allah is that on which there are many hands (i.e. eaten together)"; its narrators are thiqah.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: The narration of Umar states: "Eat together and do not separate, for blessing is with the group." Its chain is da'if.
