فحدثني أبو بكر محمد بن أحمد بن بالَوَيهِ، حدثنا إسحاق بن الحسن الحَرْبي، حدثنا عفان، حدثنا حماد بن سَلَمة، أخبرنا أبو جعفر الخَطْمي، عن محمد بن كعب القُرَظي، قال: دُعيَ عبدُ الله بن يزيد إلى طعامٍ، فلما جاء قال: كان رسولُ الله ﷺ إذا وَدَّع جيشًا قال: أَستَودِعُ الله دينَكُم وأمانتكم وخَواتِيمَ أعمالِكُم" (1).
It is narrated from Muhammad bin Ka'b al-Qurazi that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Yazid (may Allah be pleased with him) was invited to a meal. When he came, he said: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) bade farewell to an army, he would supplicate: 'Astawdi'u Allaha dinakum wa amanatakum wa khawatima a'malikum' (I entrust to Allah your religion, your trust and the final outcomes of your deeds).

(1) إسناده صحيح. عفان: هو ابن أسلم، وأبو جعفر الخَطْمي: هو عُمير بن يزيد.
Grading: Its chain is sahih.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): By Affan mentioned in the chain is meant Affan bin Muslim, and by Abu Ja'far al-Khatmi is meant Umayr bin Yazid.
وأخرجه النسائي (10268) عن هلال بن العلاء بن هلال، عن عفان، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Al-Nasa'i (10268) narrated it through Hilal bin al-Ala' from Affan, with this same chain.
وأخرجه أبو داود (2601) من طريق يحيى بن إسحاق السَّيْلَحيني، عن حماد بن سلمة، به.
Reference / Source: Abu Dawud (2601) narrated it through Yahya bin Ishaq al-Saylahini from Hammad bin Salamah.
Grading: Its chain is sahih.
