It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever wages jihad in the way of Allah is under the guarantee of Allah; whoever goes to a ruler whom he honours is also under the guarantee of Allah; and whoever sits in his house and does not backbite anyone with evil is also under the guarantee of Allah."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.
