It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered an expedition to set out. The Companions said: O Messenger of Allah! Should we set out tonight, or wait until morning? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you not love to spend the night in the gardens of Paradise?" The word kharif in the hadith means a garden.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): In manuscript (Z) it was written "'Amr", which was then erased and corrected; al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar made clear in "Tahdhib al-Tahdhib" that the correct name is "'Umar" (with damma on the 'ayn). Al-Bayhaqi, narrating it from al-Hakim in al-Sunan 9/ 158, also wrote it correctly as "'Umar".
Grading: The hadith is sahih. Technical note / Defect ('illah): On account of 'Umar bin Malik al-Shar'abi this chain is qawi (strong); he is a saduq (truthful) narrator and he has also been corroborated. Reference / Source: Al-Nasa'i (8783) narrated it through the chain of al-Harith bin Miskin from 'Abd Allah bin Wahb. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: Ibn Wahb also narrated it from 'Abd Allah bin Lahi'ah, as in Ibn al-Muqri's "Mu'jam" (33). Technical note / Defect ('illah): Ibn Wahb heard from Ibn Lahi'ah before his books were burned, so this narration is jayyid (good).
