It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah al-Bahili (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There are three kinds of people who are under the guarantee (responsibility) of Allah: a man who goes out to fight in the path of Allah; he is under Allah's guarantee until Allah takes his soul and admits him into Paradise, or brings him back with the reward and spoils he obtained. Second, a man who goes to the mosque; he is under Allah's guarantee until Allah takes his soul and admits him into Paradise, or brings him back with the reward and recompense he obtained. And third, a man who enters his house with a greeting of peace; he too is under Allah's guarantee."

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its chain is sahih. Technical note / Defect ('illah): The narrator Abu Bakr Muhammad bin Ibrahim al-Bazzaz is the well-known al-Hafiz Abu Bakr al-Shafi'i (author of al-Ghaylaniyyat); here he is attributed to his grandfather, whereas his father's name is 'Abd Allah. Reference / Source: Abu Dawud (2494) narrated it through the chain of 'Abd al-Salam bin 'Atiq from Abu Mushir. Note / Clarification: According to Imam al-Khattabi, the word "damin" here means "madmun" (an active participle in the sense of a passive participle), just as in the Qur'an "'ishatin radiyah" means a pleasing life and "ma'in dafiq" means water that is poured forth.
