حدثنا أبو بكر أحمد بن إسحاق الفقيه وأبو بكر بن عَبْدك القَزّاز الرازي ببغداد: قالا: حدثنا علي بن الحسين بن الجُنيد [حدثنا أحمد بن صالح المصري] (1) حدثنا إسحاق بن عيسى، حدثنا مالك بن أنس، عن أبي الرِّجَال، عن عَمْرة، عن عائشة: أنَّ رسول الله ﷺ قضى في سَيْلِ مَهْزُورٍ ومِذنَب أَنَّ الأعلى يُرْسِلُ إلى الأسفل ويَحبِسُ قدرَ كَعبَينِ (2).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ruled regarding the floodwater of Mahzur and Midhnab (named streams) that the upper (landowner) should let the water flow to the lower one, and he may hold (the water back for himself) up to the ankles.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), and they did not record it.

(1) سقط من النسخ الخطية، واستدركناه من "إتحاف المهرة" للحافظ (2319).
Note / Clarification: This part had dropped out of the manuscripts, and it has been restored from "Ithaf al-Maharah".
(2) إسناده صحيح، وحسَّنه الحافظ ابن حجر في "الفتح" 7/ 486.
Grading: Its chain is "sahih", and al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar declared it "hasan".
وأخرجه الدارقطني في "غرائب مالك" كما في "فتح الباري" 7/ 486، ومن طريقه ابنُ عبد البر في "التمهيد" 17/ 409 عن أبي محمد بن صاعد وعلي بن محمد الإسكافي، كلاهما عن أبي الأحوص محمد بن الهيثم القاضي، عن أحمد بن صالح المصري، بهذا الإسناد.

ويشهد له حديث عبد الله بن عمرو عند أبي داود (3639) وابن ماجه (2482)، وإسناده حسن.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: The narration of Abd Allah bin Amr is a supporting report for it, and its chain is "hasan".
وحديث ثعلبة بن أبي مالك عندهما أيضًا، وفي إسناده ضعف.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: There is also the narration of Tha'labah bin Abi Malik, but its chain has weakness.
ومرسل عبد الله بن أبي بكر عند مالك في "الموطأ" 2/ 744.

ومَهزور، بتقديم الزاي على الراء: وادي بني قريظة بالحجاز.
Geographical note: "Mahzur" (with za') is the name of the valley of Banu Qurayzah in the Hijaz.
ومِذْنَب: اسم موضع بالمدينة.
Geographical note: "Midhnab" is the name of a place in Madinah.
