نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ ثَمَنِ الْكَلْبِ ، وَمَهْرِ الْبَغِيِّ ، وَأَجْرِ الْكَاهِنِ ، وَكَسْبِ الْحَجَّامِ
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the price of a dog, the earnings of a prostitute, the fee of a soothsayer and the earnings of a cupper

أخبرَناهُ أبو بكر محمد بن أحمد (1) بن حاتم العَدْل بمَرْو، حدثنا أحمد بن محمد بن عيسى القاضي، حدثنا عبد الله بن مَسلَمة القَعنبي، حدثنا عيسى بن يونس، عن الأعمش، عن أبي سفيان، عن جابر، قال: نهى رسولُ الله ﷺ عن ثَمَنِ الكلب والسِّنَّور (2). تابعه أبو الزُّبير عن جابر:
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade taking the price of a dog and a cat.

(1) وقع في الأصلين والمطبوع: أحمد بن محمد، بتقديم أحمد على محمد، والمثبت على الصواب من "إتحاف المهرة" (2783)، ومن سائر مواضع روايات الحاكم عن هذا الرجل، حيث سماه في كل ذلك محمد بن أحمد بن حاتم، وكذلك جاء اسمه في "السنن الكبرى" للبيهقي في عدة مواضع من روايته عن الحاكم. وربما سماه الحاكم أبا بكر بن أبي نصر، وقد وثقه، كما في سؤالات السِّجْزي له الترجمة (320).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): In the original manuscripts "Ahmad bin Muhammad" was printed, which is wrong; the correct name is "Muhammad bin Ahmad bin Hatim", as is established from "Ithaf al-Maharah" and the other narrations of al-Hakim, and al-Bayhaqi also narrated it from al-Hakim in the same way.
وللحاكم شيخٌ آخر اسمه أحمد بن محمد بن عبدوس بن حاتم الحاتمي المروَزي، ذكره في "تاريخ نيسابور"، وهو غير هذا، والله تعالى أعلم.
Note / Clarification: Al-Hakim has another shaykh, Ahmad bin Muhammad bin Abdus al-Hatimi al-Marwazi, but he is a different person; and Allah knows best.
(2) حديث صحيح كسابقه. عيسى بن يونس: هو ابن أبي إسحاق السَّبيعي.
Grading: This hadith too, like the previous one, is "sahih"
Note / Clarification: Isa bin Yunus refers to Ibn Abi Ishaq al-Sabi'i.
وأخرجه أبو داود (3479)، والترمذي (1279) من طُرق عن عيسى بن يونس، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Abu Dawud (3479) and al-Tirmidhi (1279) narrated it through this same chain of Isa bin Yunus.
