لَوْ قُتِلَ رَجُلٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، ثُمَّ عَاشَ وَعَلَيْهِ دَيْنٌ ، مَا دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ حَتَّى يُقْضَى دَيْنُهُ
If a man were killed in the path of Allah, then brought back to life while in debt, he would not enter Paradise until his debt was paid

حدثنا أبو العباس محمد بن يعقوب، حدثنا الربيع بن سُليمان، حدثنا عبد الله بن وهب قال: سمعتُ حَيْوةَ بن شُريح يحدِّث عن بكر بن عمرو المَعَافِري، عن شعيب بن زُرْعة، عن عُقْبة بن عامر الجُهَني أنه قال: سمعتُ رسول الله ﷺ يقولُ لأصحابه: "لا تُخِيفُوا أنفُسَكم" فقيل: يا رسول الله، وما نُخِيفُ أنفُسَنا؟ قال: "بالدَّينِ" (1).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir al-Juhani (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say to his Companions: "Do not make your souls fearful." It was said: "O Messenger of Allah, how do we make our souls fearful?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Through debt."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

(1) إسناده حسن من أجل بكر بن عمرو المعافري وشعيب بن زُرعة.
Grading: Its chain is "hasan" on account of Bakr bin Amr and Shu'ayb bin Zur'ah.
وأخرجه أحمد 28/ (17407) عن عبد الله بن يزيد المقرئ، عن حيوة بن شريح، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad (28/ 17407) narrated it through the chain of Abd Allah bin Yazid al-Muqri' from Haywah bin Shurayh.
وأخرجه أيضًا (17320) من طريق رشدين بن سعْد، عن بكر بن عمرو، به.
Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad also narrated it through the route of Rishdin bin Sa'd.
