It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: I said: "O Messenger of Allah, I hear things from you that I fear I will forget; do you permit me to write them down?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes." Among the things he wrote down from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was that when he (peace and blessings be upon him) sent Attab bin Asid (may Allah be pleased with him) to the people of Makkah (as governor), he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Inform them that two deals in one sale are not permissible, nor is the sale of what one does not own, nor combining a loan with a sale, nor two conditions in one sale."

Grading: The hadith is "hasan" Technical note / Defect ('illah): This chain is weak because of the weakness of "Yazid bin Zuray' al-Ramli", and he is not the famous hafiz and thiqah narrator Yazid bin Zuray' al-Basri; but it has corroboration (mutaba'ah). Reference / Source: Abd al-Razzaq (14222), Sahnun in "al-Mudawwanah" (2/ 457), al-Nasa'i (5010) and Ibn Hibban (4321) narrated it through the route of Ibn Jurayj, from Ata al-Khurasani, that Abd Allah bin Amr bin al-As said… and in al-Nasa'i and Ibn Hibban: from Abd Allah bin Amr bin al-As Technical note / Defect ('illah): This narration is "mursal"; Imam al-Nasa'i, as al-Mizzi quoted in "Tuhfat al-Ashraf" (6/ 362), declared it "munkar" and an "error"; and al-Zayla'i quoted in "Nasb al-Rayah" (4/ 19) that Ata al-Khurasani's hearing (sama') from Abd Allah bin Amr bin al-As is not established. Reference / Source: Abu Sa'id Isa bin Salim al-Shashi narrated it in his "Juz'" (93) through the route of Zayd bin Abi Unaysah, Ibn Abi Shaybah (6/ 572) through the route of Hajjaj bin Artah, al-Tabarani in "al-Awsat" (1498) through the route of Ayyub al-Sakhtiyani, al-Bayhaqi (5/ 313) through the route of Muhammad bin Ajlan and Abd al-Malik bin Abi Sulayman, and at (5/ 339) through the route of al-Awza'i; all of them narrate it from Amr bin Shu'ayb, but it contains only the story of Attab bin Asid and the instructions the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent with him. (364). Repetition: The story of Abd Allah bin Amr (without the story of Attab bin Asid) has already passed at hadith number (363) through the route of Uqayl bin Khalid from Amr bin Shu'ayb from his father, and Mujahid, from Abd Allah bin Amr, and at number (364) through the route of Yusuf bin Mahak from Abd Allah bin Amr.
