أخبرَناه أبو بكر بن إسحاق، أخبرنا محمد بن شاذان الجَوهَري، حدثنا مُعلَّى بن منصور، حدثنا يعقوب أبو يوسف، أخبرنا محمد بن إسحاق، عن عاصم بن عمر، عن محمود بن لَبيد، عن ابن عباس، حدثني سلمانُ: أنَّ رجلًا من اليهود اشتراهُ، فقَدِم به المدينةَ، قال: فأَتيتُ رسولَ الله ﷺ بهديةٍ، فقلتُ: هذه صدقةٌ، فقال لأصحابه: "كُلُوا"، ولم يأكل. ثم ذكر الحديث نحوه (1).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Sayyiduna Salman al-Farisi (may Allah be pleased with him) told me: A Jewish man bought him and brought him to Madinah. He said: Then I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) with a gift and said: "This is charity." So he (peace and blessings be upon him) said to his Companions: "All of you eat," but he (peace and blessings be upon him) himself did not eat of it. Then he mentioned the rest of the hadith in the same way.
This supporting narration (shahid) is also sahih (authentic) on the condition of Muslim.

(1) إسناده حسن من أجل محمد بن إسحاق - وهو المطّلبي، صاحب المغازي والسيرة - وقد صرَّح بسماعه في "السيرة النبوية" برواية ابن هشام 1/ 214، فانتفت شبهة تدليسه. يعقوب أبو يوسف: هو يعقوب بن إبراهيم بن حبيب صاحب الإمام أبي حنيفة.
Grading: Its chain is hasan on account of Muhammad bin Ishaq
Important point: He is al-Muttalibi, the author of the history of the campaigns (al-Maghazi) and the Sirah
Technical note / Defect ('illah): In "al-Sirah al-Nabawiyyah", in the recension of Ibn Hisham (1/ 214), he explicitly stated that he heard it directly (sama'), which removes the suspicion of his tadlis
Note / Clarification: Ya'qub Abu Yusuf is Ya'qub bin Ibrahim bin Habib, the student and companion of Imam Abu Hanifah.
وأخرجه أحمد 39/ (23722) عن يحيى بن زكريا بن أبي زائدة، و (23737) عن يعقوب بن إبراهيم بن سعد الزُّهْري، عن أبيه، كلاهما عن محمد بن إسحاق، به. وصرَّح ابن إسحاق أيضًا في رواية إبراهيم بن سعد بسماعه، ورواية ابن أبي زائدة مختصرة بذكر الصدقة والهدية.
Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad narrated it at (39 / 23722) through Yahya bin Zakariyya bin Abi Za'idah, and at (23737) through Ya'qub bin Ibrahim bin Sa'd al-Zuhri from his father; both of them narrate it from Muhammad bin Ishaq with this same chain
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Ibn Ishaq also stated explicitly that he heard it in the narration of Ibrahim bin Sa'd, while the narration of Ibn Abi Za'idah is abridged, mentioning only the charity (sadaqah) and the gift.
