Abu Kathir al-Zubaydi narrates from his father (who sat with Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) near the middle Jamrah, where people had gathered around him); he said: I sat so close to him that my knees touched his knees. Meanwhile I forgot the hadith I had come to ask about, so I raised my head towards the sky, trying to remember it, and said: O Abu Dharr! Tell me of a deed by which a servant enters Paradise. He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Believe in Allah." I said: O Messenger of Allah! Is action also required along with faith? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He should give (others) something from what Allah has provided him." I said: O Messenger of Allah! What if he is so destitute that he has nothing to give? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He should say a good word with his tongue." I said: What if he (is impaired in speech and) cannot speak? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He should help someone who is overpowered and wronged." I said: What if he himself is so weak that he has no strength to help? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He should do the work of someone who is unskilled or does not know how to do it." I said: What if he himself is unskilled? He (peace and blessings be upon him) turned to me and said: "Do you not want to leave any good at all in your companion?" (Then) he said: "He should keep people safe from his harm." I said: O Messenger of Allah! All of this is very easy. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "By the One in whose Hand is my soul, whichever of these qualities a servant adopts seeking the pleasure of Allah, it will take hold of his hand on the Day of Resurrection and will not let go of him until it has admitted him into Paradise."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Muslim, because in his book he used as evidence Abu Kathir al-Zubaydi (Yazid bin Abd al-Rahman), who is a well-known Tabi'i, but the two Shaykhs did not record this hadith.

Grading: This hadith is hasan. Technical note / Error: Imam Duhaym narrated this chain more accurately. Al-Hakim here made an error and a confusion (takhlit) in the names of the narrators: he did not distinguish between Abu Kathir al-Suhaymi (who is thiqah) and Abu Kathir al-Zubaydi (a Kufan). Reference / Source: Al-Bayhaqi narrated it in "Shu'ab al-Iman" (3055) by way of four teachers, including Abu Abd Allah al-Hakim. Grading: This chain can possibly be graded hasan, and it strengthens the previous chain. Reference: Ibn Abi Shaybah, al-Tabarani and al-Bayhaqi narrated it. Grading: The narration of al-Bazzar is "da'if", because al-Awwam bin Juwayriyah in it is da'if, and there is a break between al-Hasan al-Basri and Abu Dharr. Important point: The original and most authentic narration on this topic is in al-Bukhari (2518) and Muslim (84) through the route of Abu Murawih from Abu Dharr. Note / Clarification: "Al-Radkh" means a small gift or present, little in amount. Note / Clarification: "Al-Akhraq" means a person who has no skill or craft (unskilled).
