أخبرنا أبو بكر محمد بن عبد الله الشافعي، حدثنا إسحاق بن الحسن، حدثنا أبو حُذَيفة، حدثنا سفيان. وحدثنا أبو زكريا يحيى بن محمد العَنبَري، حدثنا محمد بن عبد السلام، حدثنا إسحاق بن إبراهيم، أخبرنا وكيع، عن سفيان، عن الأعمش، عن أبي الضُّحى، عن مسروق، عن عبد الله قال: الكبائرُ من أول سورة النساء إلى ﴿إِنْ تَجْتَنِبُوا كَبَائِرَ مَا تُنْهَوْنَ عَنْهُ﴾ [النساء: 31]، من أول السورة إلى ثلاثين آيةً (1). هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، وَجَبَ إخراجه على ما شَرَطتُ في تفسير الصحابة. It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "The major sins are mentioned in the thirty verses from the beginning of Surah al-Nisa up to this statement of Allah Almighty: 'If you avoid the major sins which you are forbidden' [al-Nisa: 31]."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), and according to the principle I laid down regarding the tafsir of the Companions, it was necessary to record it.

(1) إسناده صحيح. أبو حذيفة: هو موسى بن مسعود النَّهدي، وسفيان هو الثوري، وأبو الضحى: هو مسلم بن صُبيح. ¤ ¤ وأخرجه الطبري في "تفسيره" 5/ 37 من طريق عبد الرحمن بن مهدي، عن سفيان الثوري، بهذا الإسناد. Grading: Its chain is sahih. Note / Clarification: Identification of the narrators: Abu Hudhayfah (Musa bin Mas'ud), Sufyan (al-Thawri) and Abu al-Duha (Muslim bin Subayh). Reference / Source: Al-Tabari narrated it in his "Tafsir" (5/37) through the chain of Abd al-Rahman bin Mahdi from Sufyan al-Thawri, by this same route. وأخرجه الطبري 5/ 37، وابن المنذر في "تفسيره" (1666)، والطحاوي في "شرح المشكل" 2/ 354 من طرق عن الأعمش، به. Reference / Source: Al-Tabari (5/37), Ibn al-Mundhir (Tafsir: 1666) and al-Tahawi in "Sharh Mushkil al-Athar" (2/354) narrated it through various routes from al-A'mash, with this same chain. وللأعمش فيه إسناد آخر، فقد أخرجه البزار (1532)، والطبري 5/ 37، والطحاوي 2/ 354، وابن أبي حاتم في "تفسيره" 3/ 933 من طريق الأعمش، عن إبراهيم النخعي، عن علقمة، عن عبد الله بن مسعود. وهو صحيح أيضًا. Grading: Al-A'mash has another chain for it as well, which is "sahih". Technical note: This second chain is "al-A'mash from Ibrahim al-Nakha'i from Alqamah from Abd Allah bin Mas'ud", narrated by al-Bazzar, al-Tabari and Ibn Abi Hatim.
